Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, is the largest in Southern Italy. There are more than 60 airlines (among them AirFrance, ITA, Lufthansa, KLM, Swiss Airline, Aegean Cronus Airlines, Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling, Volotea, Wizz Air, etc..) operating at the airport, offering direct flights to numerous domestic and European destinations, including, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Bruxelles, Athen, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Luxembourg and other major cities.

 

As regards transport services, the airport is well connected to the city centre via buses and taxis. The ALIBUS Catania Airport shuttle bus connect the airport to the City Centre in 20 min. The ALIBUS makes numerous important stops, such as:

  • Catania Airport serves as the service's launchpad.
  • Fermata Archi (Uscita Porto): It's easy to go to the waterfront and other cultural attractions from this station.
  • Fermata Stazione Est (Stazione Centrale): This station connects passengers to both regional and national rail services and offers convenient access to Catania's Central rail Station.

 

The nearest stop to the Monastery of San Nicolò l’Arena (where the conference will be held) is Fermata Archi. You can get around Catania easily because to its own metro system. For both locals and tourists, the Catania Metro's few lines that connect to key neighborhoods and points of interest make it ideal. Among the significant metro stops are:

  • Stesicoro: Located in the centre of Catania, this neighborhood offers quick access to local landmarks and retail centres.
  • Giuffrida: Providing services to a neighborhood and adjacent educational facilities.
  • Borgo: An important hub for people wishing to access the city centre or bus services.
